Woodford House
This sandstone cottage is set on acreage in the Blue Mountains and enjoys a beautiful landscape setting. The brief called for:
- Changing the internal layout to achieve better kitchen, dining, study, bathroom, workshop and ancillary sleeping areas
- New entry and address for the residence
- New double garage with loft
- Concrete water tanks for bushfire fighting & gardening
To accommodate the new kitchen/dining wing new sandstone work was required to match the existing sandstone. Bi-folding window now frame the entry path to the house and provide a convenient seating area. Contemporary concrete floors compliment the solidity of the existing sandstone. A comfortably sized bathroom opens up to the landscape. The roofline of the new entry area is replicated in the roofline of the double garage. This project is a sensitive addition to a historical building that compliments the existing character of the homestead.
